In Winter, experience what Skiing Magazine rated as the best powder in North America. The skiing/riding at Kicking Horse is second to none in three bowls formerly open only to heli-skiers. Heli-skiing is available in the bowls adjacent to the resort. The lodging’s location near the base of the Pioneer Chair is great for exploring the mountain and within 5 minutes walking distance to restaurants, pubs, and shopping. Additional winter activities include cross-country skiing, back country touring, snowmobile tours, ice skating, dog sledding, snowshoeing and tubing. |

Kicking Horse is a relatively new resort and isn't as well known as it's long established neighbors like Lake Louise. As a result, the slopes are relatively uncrowded and usually no wait at the lifts.
Although the Kicking Horse has an abundance of expert runs, there are many beginner and intermediate runs for family fun.
The spectacular views on the ride up include Boo the Grizzly Bear who resides underneath the gondola. |
